Redactopia is currently pre-1.0. It is provided free of charge, as-is, without warranty of any kind. Detection rules, supported sites, permissions, and the user interface may change between releases as the product matures. These terms may also be updated to reflect those changes — see §08 below.
Treat the extension as a helpful layer of awareness, not a finished product or a security guarantee. If you need defense-grade data loss prevention, evaluate a dedicated DLP system instead.

A best-effort awareness tool.
Redactopia is a free browser extension that performs local pattern-matching on prompt text before it is submitted to supported AI chat websites. It is designed to help you notice common sensitive data patterns — such as API keys, passwords, and email addresses — before sending a prompt.
Redactopia is a best-effort awareness tool. It is not a security product, compliance platform, data loss prevention (DLP) system, or substitute for careful review.
Provided "as is."
Redactopia is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no representations or warranties regarding:
- The accuracy or completeness of detection
- Fitness for any particular purpose
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Compatibility with any specific browser version or website
Detection is pattern-based and may miss sensitive content or flag content that is not sensitive. Always review your prompts before sending.
Use at your own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Redactopia and its contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — Redactopia, including but not limited to data exposure, loss of data, or loss of business.
Your use of Redactopia is entirely at your own risk.
Personal or professional. With limits.
You may use Redactopia for personal or professional use on any browser where it is supported. You may not:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the extension to circumvent its intended function
- Distribute modified versions of the extension under the Redactopia name
- Use the extension in a way that violates applicable law
Nothing leaves the page.
Redactopia does not collect, transmit, or store your prompt text. See the Privacy Policy for full details, including the eight permissions the extension explicitly does not request.
Terms may evolve with the product.
These terms may be updated as the extension evolves. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
